The Valley Performing Arts Center’s Arts Education Department is a non-profit performing arts program offered through the California State University, Northridge and is a subsidiary of the California State University system. Its dynamic and dedicated arts education program brings FREE, high quality multicultural performing arts programs to public school students in the San Fernando Valley. Even during recent years, when the recession has forced so many public schools and nonprofit arts organizations to reduce or completely eliminate their arts program offerings, the VPAC’s Arts Education Department has been able to maintain and expand its commitment to offering free performances for K-12 public school students as well as curriculum enhancements and pedagogical support for K-12 teachers. All this has been achieved primarily through the generous donations received from State Farm and the United States Department of Education.
The VPAC’s Arts Education Program is dependent on the generosity and support of donors who share in our mission and purpose. We urge you to support our arts education program so we can continue to bring high quality, integrative multicultural arts experiences to K-12 students and teachers across San Fernando Valley and its neighboring communities. The most current research is undeniable that a school with an arts-rich curriculum increases student achievement in myriad ways. By providing world-class arts experiences to students and teachers, we believe that there are few better ways to help a student succeed.
